This post would not be complete if we left out this little Mister dancing machine – Matthew.  He was full of energy and had no worries, if anyone else did……he’d just tell them to “Shake it Off.”

After the wonderful food and dancing it was time to take the party down stairs for bowling and bocce, that’s right – this was not your typical wedding celebration.  One of the most unique weddings we’ve ever had the pleasure of being involved with.

Sarah’s Sweet 16 | Evans, Georgia Photo Session

Princess For A Day

sweet 16 with cupcakeEvery girl waits for this day
With hopes and dreams in her eyes
And after every year a mother cheers
Recalling the birth day of her prize
Every mother waits for this day
The day her daughter can drive a car
This is the time to celebrate
Her life journey, she’s come so far

God is thanked in many prayers
For bringing a daughter and a friend
And this is the year of her sweet sixteen
A woman, at childhood’s end
This is the day to celebrate and cheer
For her happiness, clearly seen
And the happiness she gives everyone
Happy Birthday, Sweet Sixteen.

We had the awesome opportunity to capture some great images of a beautiful young lady.  We had a great time hanging out around her high school and celebrating her “Sweet 16” a little early.

There’s love and then there’s love…..and can you believe a Super Bowl is involved in the story of these two….seriously.

Here’s their story as told by Diane………

same sex photography

“The day of Super Bowl XLVII started our venture……I received a message online from a soldier and we started chatting…….

same sex photography

We hit it off pretty well online and were curious to find out more.  So we decided to meet.  Since Shayne lives in Georgia and I lived in the northern part of South Carolina, we had to figure out where.  Shayne decided to drive up to my work place one night so we could meet…..

From that day, we saw each other as much as possible.  Shayne asked me out on February 24, 2013 while playing a football version of basketball.  She visited almost every weekend, even when I was at work.  We love to venture out and kayak, play ball, zip-line, and just watch movies.  It was a match made in heaven.

same sex photography

On June 7, 2014, Shayne asked me to marry her!!  It was one of they greatest days of my life.  I said yes, of course!

same sex photography

Then, on July 19, 2014, I asked Shayne to marry me.  She said yes.

We are fortunate enough to have the ability to be legally married in Washington, DC on 12/13/14.  We also are blessed to have the support of both of our families and all of our friends.”

Now that you’ve heard a little of their story……let’s check out some highlights of our session with these fun girls.

Sunshine on a Rainy Day

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey.  You’ll never know dear how much I love you…….

We had such a great time with this couple and their families.  We started the day with such beautiful skies with awesome clouds but eventually the skies turned dark, but not even the stormy cloud couldn’t stop the determination of this couple especially after the events of the previous night.

Nick’s dad had a medical emergency late into the night but wished for Nick and Kayla to continue their plans for the following day.  On Saturday morning, you know Nick’s thoughts and heart were with his father, but he was determined to follow through with marrying the woman of his dreams, Kayla.  And so…the following is a short sneak peek of the events of the day.

Even rain can’t stop the happiness and love shared by these two.

They’re next stop before hitting the road to their honeymoon was to go share their joy and day with Nick’s father and bring him a bit of happiness.

For this couple, this day isn’t just about them, but about their family and friends.

We know without a doubt that they are so thankful for the blessings and God’s grace & mercy on Friday night and so very thankful to have each other to lean on.  That, my friends, is love.

And we know love conquers all.

“I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart)I am never without it (anywhere
I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)
I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)”
― E.E. Cummings

As I scrolled through the images we captured of this couple, editing each one with care and precision, all I keep thinking about is….how can you not see how much these two individuals love each other?

No, they may not be your vision of a traditional loving couple but one thing is for sure – – they truly do love each other.  The kind of love that deserves a beautiful bond.  They’ve endured the separation by the long distance of deployment, they’ve gone through the pains of building a house together and a home, they’ve even endured the separation of time.  Some ten years together…..and still standing strong.

Our engagement session with Kelli and Shivaun started out with a consultation at a small coffee shop in town – The Inner Bean.  We got a chance to hear their story, where they came from, how they met and how they grew to realize they were in love.  We laughed a lot and grew to admire this couple for all they’ve done and all they hope to do one day.  Truthfully, after all the fun we had during their engagement session hitting some of the historic spots in Augusta, we can’t wait to photograph their celebration next spring.

On with the beautiful images……..

Loving Laughter

IMGL1014

Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live.

– Johnny Depp

The quote definitely describes the session with this couple.  I’m not sure if it’s because the summer heat got to us all or we were truly just having a good time.  I’m voting for the good time – even though we were melting away.

Quanna and Toni live life to the fullest with few regrets for who they are and who they love.  Their faith is strong and their hearts wide open to what the future has in store for them.

These two originally met during their college years back in 2003 but life took them in separate directions – just wasn’t their season yet.  2013 rolls around and they get re-connected, have a Valentine’s Date together and the rest, as they say, is history.

Our Evans, Georgia couples photography session with these two girls was hot and humid and full of laughter. There was a dog, dancing, a little kissing and tons of smiles and laughter.  We all had a great time – you’ll see……..

Love is a beautiful thing and we love capturing the fun and love between two individuals, no matter who they are.  Life is full of many twists and turns and when you find someone who loves you for you and accepts you with all your imperfections regardless of what they may be – what more could you really want in life?

Tucker Wedding Photography | David and Linda

 Second Chances

“To love someone deeply gives you strength. Being loved by someone deeply gives you courage.”

— Chinese Philosopher Lao Tzu

Sometimes life dishes out a second chance at love.  That’s exactly what happened with David and Linda.  We won’t say how many years ago it was but way back when…..David and Linda dated and even went to Homecoming together at Tucker High School.  Life threw each of these two wonderful individuals a few curve balls and upon graduation, they both went in different directions.

Eventually, they got a second chance and they grabbed it and ran with it.  Their story is one of trials and triumphs and their love, well it’s truly something special.

So when they decided to get married, what better place to have their ceremony – Tucker High School.  David, Linda and Linda’s two sons allowed us the honor of photographing them pre-wedding.   There was plenty of laughter, hi-jinx and fun had by all but most importantly, the creation of a new family took place right before our eyes.

Here’s some of the highlights of story of their day:

Though time has past, their chance at love didn’t.  These Tucker Tigers got a second chance and pounced on it.
